There is a sensitive living matter that dwells in stone which conceals the secrets of time and wisdom. Ancient statues and steles of sculptured stone made in long off eras to resist and confront kronos, sleep in a deep slumber across the centuries keeping enigmas which admonish and stimulate interior knowledge. Wherever a monument reaches towards the sky whether it be a menhir, an obelisk or an archetype of marble or wood a revelation is made. Initiating an awaited event which weaves a weft between those who have erected it and the context in which it’s received, be it the top of a hill or a town square.
Giuseppe Lorenzi a sculptor , better described as a calligraphic sculptor, is today along side the heirs and protagonists of a perpetual dialogue in which to the observer symbols and their revelations are brought to life. The outcome of his works has been obtained by research, dedication and hard work, purified from pointlessness they reach the essential and are aimed at who observes , listens and sees past the visible, to who longs for a creative message which enthuses them to believe in something big, something reassuring.
